Dr Intan Juliana Abd Hamid started Paediatric Immunology service at Advanced Medical and Dental Institute of Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her current research focused on exploring the diagnosis and disease mechanism of primary immunodeficiency diseases in Malaysia.
She further her study in UK, and had obtained a PhD in Immunobiology from Newcastle University, UK in 2017. Her PhD research focused on the long term outcome of Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in Newcastle, UK. She also had completed a year of International Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Host Defence Unit, Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust, UK; where she had an exposure on the management and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases. She’s back home in Malaysia in September 2017 and has started Paediatric Immunology service in Institut Perubatan & Pergigian Termaju, USM. Her current research focused on exploring the diagnosis and disease mechanism of primary immunodeficiency diseases in Malaysia. One of her long term dream is the availability of a hematopoietic stem cell transplantation unit in AMDI, USM which serves for PID patients in Malaysia.
She is a Pensyarah Universiti DS51 in Institut Perubatan & Pergigian Termaju, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She graduated from Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia in Biomedical Science and pursued her study in Immunology at University of Oxford, UK.
