The lack in the number of immunologists, the absence of national registry database and awareness among the public were among the challenges that arose for the rapid diagnosis of primary immunodeficiency diseases (PID) in Malaysia. According to the sharing by Dr. Intan Juliana Abd Hamid on Awani Pagi, children with primary immunodeficiency diseases may appear to be normal at birth, but they are actually very susceptible to recurrent infections. Among the 10 warning signs, the three points highlighted are failure to thrive, require intravenous antibiotics to clear the infections and positive family history of primary immunodeficiency diseases (PID).
